The Swimmer

I just really love gouache here. And if you know me well enough, you'd know that gouache and I have had an ongoing love-hate relationship since the day we met. This was a perfect day of painting.

In the summer of 22’ Sean and I made a weekly habit of going to the beach. Sean would swim to the buoy and I laid on the warm sand with a book. One day, we happened to be there at the same time a group of senior swimmers were meeting to swim in the ocean. I eavesdropped a little and thought “how badass”. They talked about swimming to a boat that seemed too frickin far, then past the boat, so crazy! Here is one of them. It was a perfect day at the beach.
